For every issue of Audubon magazine, we ask a new artist to reinterpret one of John James Audubon's original watercolors using their own unique style. In reimagining Audubon's illustration of the Purple Gallinule, artist Olimpia Zagnoli said, "I try to always add a touch of irony to my work to make it look artistic but not too serious."
