For every issue of Audubon magazine, we ask a new artist to reinterpret one of John James Audubon's original watercolors using their own unique style. When reimagining Audubon's illustration of the California Condor, artist Joe Ciardiello said, "Even though it’s this scavenger, there’s something noble about its appearance. I thought of it as just doing another portrait.”
